Living Together May Be Mentally Healthier Than Marriage: Study
MONDAY, Jan. 23 () — Marriage offers few well-being advantages compared to living together, a new study contends.
The study also found that the benefits of marriage diminish over time, while unmarried couples who live together experience greater happiness and self-esteem.
Researchers examined data from 2,737 single men and women who took part in the U.S. National Survey of Families and Households.
Foods with elevated levels of sugar, fat, and processed ingredients may lower the IQ of young children, a study published in the Journal of Epidemiology and Community Health has found. The study, which was conducted by scientists from Canada and the United Kingdom, noted that little is known about the effects of dietary habits on intelligence in childhood and later in life. The researchers examined data collected from 3,966 children ages 3, 4, 7, and 8-and-a-half. The kids’ IQ were assessed using the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children.
