Body clock: Janet Moran Actress
8.45am
I have a bowl of grapes, berries and sliced pear with plain yogurt, and a mug of black coffee.
9.20am
I walk to rehearsal in the city centre. I normally use one of the Dublin Bikes, but this morning there aren’t any at the station.
10am
The cast and director sit together and we discuss the play, then do some reading. I drink water and make myself a cup of black coffee.
11.30am
I go out for a cigarette.
1pm
At lunch, I go and get myself a ham and cheese sandwich on brown bread with lettuce and tomato.
2pm
We spend the afternoon rehearsing.
6pm
I have a little lie-down for 20 minutes before going out on stage to do my 40-minute yoga warm-up. It’s a great thing to do right before a performance because it stretches the body and focuses the mind.
7pm
I’m in my dressing room and getting ready for the show. I’m drinking more water.
8pm
The performance is actually three separate plays. I’m in the first one, which lasts for an hour.
9pm
I get back into my own clothes before having a cigarette and eating dinner. One of the other cast members and I make a salad on alternate nights for the two of us to share, so we both don’t have to bring in food every night. Tonight she’s made one containing salmon, tomato, cucumber and red onion with yogurt dressing.
9.30pm
I change back into my costume just before we have to go out on stage at the end of the night.
10.30pm
We take our bows and then I put on my own clothes and remove my make-up. Because it’s a week night I just have a glass of mineral water in the pub with a few of the others. I smoke a cigarette.
11.30pm
After leaving the pub, I get one of the Dublin Bikes home.
Midnight
I have a cup of chamomile tea, check my emails and then read for a while before going to sleep at about 12.30am.
